Story Talk on Shortlisted 2022 Nobel Laureates in Physiology/Medicine

Under the celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsava, IISU NDLI Club Central Library and the Department of Biotechnology organised a Story Talk “Shortlisted 2022 Nobel Laureates in Physiology/Medicine” to instill scientific acumen and interest in the young and perceptive minds of the MSc students.
The students of MSc Microbiology and Biotechnology were taken to the library and were acquainted with various journals. While, the Nobel prize nominations were done in the week, so the students were asked to discuss and submit their point of views on the various novel discoveries. The scientist Svante Paabo was the highlight, as his discovery concerning the genomes of extinct hominins and human evolution was deliberated upon in detail. The purpose of this task was to familiarise the students with the current happenings of science and the tryst with the fanstastic scientific literature present in our library. The students thorough enjoyed the activity and were fully engaged. The objective of this two hour long activity was fully achieved.
