Webinar on the “Cases and Value Prepositions of Web of Science & Journal Citation Reports”

A webinar on the “Cases and Value Prepositions of Web of Science & Journal Citation Reports” was jointly organized by Research Promotion Committee and the Central Library in collaboration with Clarivate Analytics on August 3, 2021 from 3.30 pm to 5.00 pm. for the faculty and research scholars of IIS (Deemed to be University). There was 111 attendees in the webinar on Teams platform.

The resource person was Mr. Vishav Sharma, Regional Solutions Consultant, Clarivate Analytics. He gave an overview of the research solutions – “Web of Science and Journal Citation Reports”.

He informed the attendees about the key features of research citation-indexing database Web of Science, updated their knowledge with its functioning, how to find most relevant papers in a specific subject, how to identify leading researchers, institutions, and journals and get accurate and objective citation data for organizations and individual researchers, which will help in improving the Rankings.

He also familiarized them with JCR which provides the list of high quality impact factor journals and informed about how to analyse the journals to know their performance over the years, their immediacy index and many more indicators.

The session was very informative and beneficial for the research scholars and the faculty members in order to understand the research citation-indexing database WOS and JCR and get acquainted with the features to select the best-fit journal to publish their research.
