Objective of the activity: To display the valuable collection of books pertaining to Indian culture and philosophy available in the library in order to draw attention and develop interest and curiosity of knowing our culture and traditions among students.
Summary/Description
IISU NDLI Club, Central Library, Dept of Library and Information Science in association with Department of Indian Literature & Languages under the aegis of Centre for Indian Knowledge System organized a Poster Making Competition and a Book Exhibition from 14th September to 23rd September, 2023 in order to celebrate “Hindi Diwas” in the library. The topic of the Poster Making Competition is “अंतरिक्ष विज्ञान के क्षेत्र में भारत के बढ़ते कदम” (“India’s forwarding steps into the field of space”). More than 40 students enthusiastically participated in the competition and the posters were displayed. The students represented the glory of our launched vehicles and the endless possibilities in space exploration. The detailed illustration captured the essence of ISRO in all its glory. 12 students participated in this competition. Dr. Ujjwala Tiwari (Director- School of Fine Art) selected the best three posters.
Palak Muchchhal (BFA Sem VII) bagged the first prize and Yogita Sharma (BA (H) Sem V) and Krati Agarwal (B.Com (H) Sem I) got the second prize and third prize respectively.
The library exhibited its collection of around 800 books of hindi language, literature and poetry.
Outcome of the activity: Students and faculty were enlightened to visit the exhibition.
